FAQs

Q. What is a Jumpee Thing?

A. A Jumpee Thing is an inflatable game (also called a moonbounce or bounce house) that provides kids of all ages with a safe, fun environment for jumping and bouncing around.

Q. Is The Jumpee Thing safe to use?

A. Absolutely. Our units are certified by the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Amusement Ride and Safety Division. Users simply need to follow the safety instructions that are always posted on a sign next to the unit and on the unit itself. Safety instructions can also be found on our Rental Terms and Conditions.

Q. Are there age restrictions for using The Jumpee Thing?

A. No. Anyone who’s big enough and old enough to jump can use The Jumpee Thing. But only jumpers of the same approximate age and size should use the unit at the same time. See our Rental Terms and Conditions Form for more information.

Q. How many kids can jump in The Jumpee Thing at once?

A. It all depends on the age and size of the kids doing the jumping. Here’s a good rule of thumb:

  • 2-4 year olds = 8 kids
  • 5-9 year olds = 6 kids
  • 9 years old or older = 4 kids

Specific weight limits are posted on each unit.

Q. What's a carnie?

A. A carnie is a professional carnival worker. They’ve made their careers out of fun and games. They’re great with kids. And they’re passionate about jumping, of course.

Q. Will a Jumpee Thing employee be at my event to supervise use of The Jumpee Thing?

A. That’s up to you. One of our professional carnies can certainly work the party for you for a fee of $10 per hour. Carnies can monitor use of the Jumpee Thing while lending an added level of fun and authenticity to your event. But a carnie isn’t necessary. Any responsible adult can supervise use of The Jumpee Thing units. But remember that adult supervision is necessary to make sure all safety rules are followed.

Q. Don’t carnies have small hands and smell like cabbage?

A. No. At least not all of us. Although some carnies are missing several teeth, most modern day carnival workers do not smell like cabbage. The Jumpee Thing carnies actually have all of their own teeth, with the exception of one porcelain crown.

Q. What kind of power source do I need to operate The Jumpee Thing?

A. A standard outdoor or indoor electrical outlet located within 50 feet of the unit will do the trick.

Q. How much room do I need to set up The Jumpee Thing?

A. The Jumpee Thing requires a 20’ X 20’ space with a clearance of 18’ feet above head. The Slidee Thing needs approximately 25’ by 45’ feet to operate properly.

Q. Will The Jumpee Thing deliver to my area?

A. The Jumpee Thing provides free delivery, set up and breakdown to locations throughout central Ohio including Franklin and surrounding counties. Contact us for more information.

Q. When does my rental period begin and end?

A. Your rental period starts at your previously scheduled party time, which is typically when your Jumpee Thing is delivered to your location. It ends when our employees come back to pick up your Jumpee Thing or when your party is scheduled to end.

Q. What happens if it rains during my rental period?

A. As long as you cancel your rental before the unit is delivered, you won’t be charged a dime. But if our employees show up and set up your Jumpee Thing, and then the skies open up, you’ll have to pay the full rental price.

Q. Do you offer multi-rental discounts?

A. We sure do. If you plan to rent The Jumpee Thing for more than one occasion, and you book both rentals at the same time, we’ll be happy to give you a price break. Contact us for more details.

Q. Are there discounts for non-profits?

A. Certainly. Schools and churches are both entitled to discounts. Contact us for more details.

Q. Is The Jumpee Thing a minority owned business?

A. Why, yes it is. The Jumpee Thing is a registered Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
